Freight News | JD Logistics Puts Its 13th Freighter into Operation, Launches “Chongqing–Wuhu” Cargo Route

On March 27, JD Logistics officially put its 13th freighter into operation in Chongqing and launched the Chongqing–Wuhu all-cargo route, marking further expansion of its air fleet and strengthening a new air logistics corridor between Southwest and East China.

The newly deployed B738 freighter has a payload capacity of 18 tons, operating from Tuesday to Sunday each week. The route carries a mix of high-value goods such as electronics, pharmaceuticals, auto parts, apparel, and business documents, as well as regional specialties including spring teas and Chongqing local products like loquat, Wushan crisp plums, Rongchang braised goose, and hotpot base ingredients.

With the launch of this route, shipments between Chongqing and the Yangtze River Delta can achieve next-day delivery. Through logistics coordination via Wuhu Xuanzhou Airport, transit efficiency to regions such as Guangdong, Shaanxi, Hubei, and the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei area is also significantly improved, helping resolve time constraints for outbound distribution of Southwest China’s specialty products.

Chongqing, a key inland aviation hub, handled over 50 million passengers and 500,000 tons of cargo and mail in 2025 at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport. JD Logistics continues to expand its network to support regional and international connectivity. Currently, it operates dozens of domestic and international cargo routes, further enhancing supply chain efficiency across major economic regions.
